Gaydio is a training and radio broadcasting service for the LGBT community in Greater Manchester. Their training focus is on those who experience significant disadvantage and hardship and offers opportunities to increase skills and confidence through a number of employment and training schemes. Gaydio are also the producers of the UK's 24/7 broadcast service for LGBT people - giving a voice to these communities, providing opportunities to connect and communicate.
The Manchester Pride Community fund helps contribute to Gaydio's annual licence broadcast fee. This allows us to broadcast on FM across Greater Manchester, meaning we are accessible from Bury to Stockport and from Trafford to Ashton. Each month approximately 100,000 people across Greater Manchester listen to our service on FM and around 50 members from the local LGBT community participate in creating, producing and presenting radio programmes, talking about everything from mainstream current affairs to topics that affect the LGBT communities.
