Community Sessions are vibrant and inclusive events that bring together grassroots LGBTQ+ community groups to raise awareness of their important work and inspire attendees to get involved. Held monthly at The Proud Place in Manchester City Centre, these sessions offer an incredible opportunity for LGBTQ+ communities and allies to gather, grow, learn, and celebrate.
At Community Sessions, we create a safe and inclusive space where everyone feels welcome, respected, and valued. It's a place where LGBTQ+ individuals can learn about the experiences of others within the community, and allies can gain a deeper understanding of the LGBTQ+ experience and how they can use their privilege and networks to support LGBTQ+ people.
Each month, we focus on a different topic related to LGBTQ+ life, ranging from healthcare to the experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals aged over 55. Through these informative sessions, we aim to broaden perspectives and deepen understanding.
Our commitment to intersectional LGBTQ+ identities is at the heart of Community Sessions. We bring together community groups that represent diverse aspects of LGBTQ+ life in Greater Manchester. By raising awareness of the challenges faced by marginalised communities, we aim to build empathy, understanding, and support.
