The Census 2021 data on LGBTQ+ Identity has been released! For the first time ever, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) asked optional questions about LGBTQ+ identity on people over the age of 16. The data sets are split into two sections; Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity. The overall number of people who said they identified as under the LGBTQ+ umbrella in Manchester is 7.7% (Almost 30,000 people!).

Anecdotally, Piccadilly and Ancoats was THE highest percentage LGB+ area I could find outside of Brighton!
